Eat at the Mackerel Islands, Western Australia

The Mackerel Islands operate as a self-catering stay, meaning you will need to supply your own food and drinks. There are limited non-perishable items and alcohol available for purchase on the island.

BYO alcohol is permitted on Thevenard Island, however, there will be a limit of 4 cartons per group - any larger quantities will need to be pre-ordered, with 14 day's notice from our online store. Filtered desalinated water is available and is safe to drink, but if you wish to provide your own drinking water, we recommend that you allow 2-3 litres per person per day.

Each Beachfront Cabin is fully self-contained, featuring a fully equipped kitchen, fridge/freezer, stove top, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, Nespresso coffee pod machine and a Weber BBQ.

 

BYO Groceries

The most cost-effective option, best for long stays at the Mackerel Islands. 

We recommend guests BYO groceries and top-up from the Island Kiosk during your stay.

Weight limits to be kept under 16kg per item, for safe unloading at Thevenard Island.

Onslow IGA

Offers a wider range of groceries and fresh produce.

To place your order, please email your grocery list to [email protected].

Pick-up from Onslow General Store in convenient foam containers. Payment required on collection.

Guests requiring fresh grocery top-ups may place an order with Onslow IGA for pick-up (delivery fees apply).

Self-Cook Easy Meals

A convenient, quality first night option.

Ingredients prepared by the Onslow Beach Resort and meal cooked by you on the island. Pick-up from Onslow Beach Resort (please contact us directly if you are arriving by aircraft).

Visit our Online Store to order your self-cook easy meals ahead of your stay. Payment is made on pick-up.

Island Kiosk

Stocks basic non-perishable items including frozen meats, pantry staples, snacks, drinks and alcohol.

Open daily for a short duration, great for topping up supplies during your stay. We can order in special items with notice.

Due to our remote location, we accept card payments only (no cash) on Thevenard Island.

To place an alcohol pre-order ahead of your stay, visit our Online Store. Payment is made at Thevenard Island on pick-up of your items. Please note that a minimum of 14 days notice is required to fill your order.
